Supply Chain Act from January 1, 2023

  • Since January 1, 2023, companies based in Germany with more than 3,000 employees must comply with the Supply Chain Sourcing Obligations Act (LkSG).
  • From January 1, 2024, the law will be extended to companies with more than 1,000 employees.
  • It was recently announced that it is to be followed at EU level: According to a draft directive from the EU Commission, the regulation will be applicable to companies with more than 500 employees in the future. For certain particularly vulnerable sectors, the limit could even be set at 250 employees.
