Keynote Speech: The Quest for Stability and Growth - an International View of the National Economies
10.15 - 10.40 a.m.
Global growth has generally been remarkably steady so far this year, despite ongoing political and geopolitical uncertainty, even though fears of a looming recession are rising in the markets.
The ongoing recovery in trade can be slowed by rising tariffs and subsidies. While the pace of decline in inflation has moderated this year, there has been enough progress for more central banks to start cutting rates, but the future path remains uncertain. Fiscal deficits remain high in many countries. The talk will focus on the outlook for the future, risks, and the factors affecting the economic environment for companies with international business.
