International SCHUMANN Conference: Innovation in Credit Management

On 12th September 2024 SCHUMANN will host an international online live conference on the theme of digital credit management. Speakers from the company's international customer base and partners will discuss new solutions for the digitalization of credit management for insurance companies, financial service businesses & industrial and trading companies. Participation is free of charge.

"We want to offer a platform for all industries and experts who are involved in the themes of credit or risk management, digitalization and process automation. Looking beyond your own immediate area of activity can also be a good source of new ideas", said Dr. Martina Städtler-Schumann, Managing Director of SCHUMANN. Therefore, at the SCHUMANN Conference credit insurers and issuers of surety bonds are also active in addition to financial service providers, industrial and wholesale companies.

In the sectors of industry and trade an increase in insolvencies is expected nationally and internationally for 2024 and the extent of the financial damage is also considerable. This shows that it pays to be alert when offering supplier credit and to monitor the liquidity of customers carefully. "In addition to the obvious need to avoid bad debts, there are other reasons to optimize a company's risk management. Faster and more transparent processes help, for example, to reduce costs and also make companies more adaptable and resilient", explained Städtler-Schumann. Thyssenkrupp and Bauking are just two of the companies that will talk about their experiences at the conference in September.

In the areas of surety bonds and credit insurance, digitalization is currently a very important theme. Insurance customers now expect digital services and tools similar to those they have become used to in their private lives. Via platforms and portals, speed and customer satisfaction can be greatly increased and the insurance company also profits from automated processes. At the SCHUMANN Conference various credit insurers and providers of surety bonds such as R+V, Zurich, Nexus and DUAL, will exchange their experiences regarding the latest technological developments and the expected regulatory changes and their effects.

Regulatory requirements are also a big topic for the financial services sector. Compliance checks e.g. against blocklists, sanctions lists, PEPs, money-laundering checks and the determination of financial beneficiaries have become standard here. Speed in making credit decisions is essential. This is a decisive factor in accessing new markets and enabling fast growth without increasing the number of personnel. "In addition to an overview of European market chances and conditions, insights into the benefits of technological efficiency are shared at our conference", said Städtler-Schumann.

The online conference will be streamed live over two parallel channels, one in German, the other in English, from a studio in Hanover. In addition to the diverse programme of talks, there is the possibility to inform oneself on-demand about the latest product developments from SCHUMANN. This includes the theme of artificial intelligence. AI offers many new possibilities but also presents companies with challenges in its implementation. "At the conference we will demonstrate the utilization of the technology on the basis of the use cases payment and insolvency prognoses and will present our developments", reported Städtler-Schumann.
